Our Ranch
Battle Creek Ranch is a family-run, working cattle ranch in southwest Montana, located approximately twenty miles south of White Sulphur Springs. The ranch sits at 6,000 feet in elevation. It is a vast, open, landscape that is spread over 12,000 acres and is encircled by the Big Belt, Castle, Crazy and Bridger mountain ranges. A beautiful blue ribbon fishing stream flows in front of the ranch's main lodge and guest cabins. At Battle Creek Ranch we offer a variety of opportunites including ranch vacations, authentic cattle drives, fishing and hunting. Trail rides, moving cattle from pasture to pasture, and repairing a fence are all activities that add variety to your stay. Hike, mountain bike, play horseshoes, cribbage, read or simply relax. Our Story
Boyd K. Iverson and his family settled in the Missouri River Valley on the West side of the Big Belt Mountains in 1950. He was one of the first ranchers to introduce Charolais cattle in Montana. Boyd's cattle company grew and expanded to include Battle Creek Ranch; a summer pastureland for the growing cow-calf pair operation.
Boyd's daughter Shelly now runs the ranch with her husband Lary, and they are often joined by their children and grandchildren in ranch operations. The Richtmyer family has worked hard to maintain Battle Creek's rich history and rustic beauty. The original, hand-hewn log home from the 1800's was added on to - creating a stunning modern lodge. More Cabins have been built over the years to accommodate their expanding family and business.
